Fix Up Strategies

What do I do when I don't understand what I read?

  • Reread what I didn't understand.
  • Reading what came before.
  • Slow down.
  • Use context clues or dictionaries to solve new words.
  • Remind myself of what I already know.
  • Talk it out with a partner.
  • (Change books.)
  • Take a break.
  • Talk to the teacher.
