- Checking understanding means I know when I'm reading with my eyes and brain, not just with my eyes.
P: How do I check my understanding?
- While reading I notice:
- frustration
- tired
- slow
- many unknown words
- not visualizing
- After reading:
- cannot retell what I read
C: When/Why do I check my understanding?
- I check my understanding during and after reading.
- Checking understanding helps me make meaning.
